I had to call several times to ask about a shipping guarantee and nothing. Eventually Ben sent me a $50 check. He didn't settle with me on water heater or umbrella and ceased to respond back to me again.
My advice to anyone in the market for a dog cart... Do your homework and be aware. I got a raw deal, screwed and paid for it Big Time. Never again!
When I ordered the Big Dog Cart with a couple of upgrades (grill, hot water heater and a sink splash guard) and with delivery it was well over $4 grand. I paid an extra $100 additional to the freight to have it shipped directly to my house with a lift gate delivery truck. Well that's not what happened, the delivery trucking company did not have a lift gate and had to drop the crate off several mile away at a wearhouse that I had to pay a guy with a forklift to off load the cart and I had to rent a trailer to get it home. The wood crate was falling apart by the time of delivery and it must have been at some point been left outside in the rain. I could tell because the cooler box was full of rusty water, it was a mess. The water heater had a big dent in it and the umbrella it came with dint even fit in the dam hole.
i was interested in purchasing a cart from bens carts and because i made a comment on his youtube video he replied that i am not the kind of person that he would sell a cart to. I don't know what his problem is but that is not how you treat potential clients. I even considered purchasing his book and other services, not now. I will spend the extra money and go to one of the many other cart vendor services out there.
With all that here is the worst... I haven't been able to get my cart licenced. Benscarts was supposed to provide title for registration paperwork as so you can get the cart a trailer licence at DMV. Ben's response was he had shipped all the paperwork with the cart and it was in the cooker compartment. So I cant get the thing street legal.
I purchased the Big Dog cart from Ben two years ago and its been an OK piece of equipment but you can tell its not professionally manufactured by no means. Its a hollow box on an axle with lots of sharp edges. The cooler box for example is a plastic ice chest that the lid was removed and it looks like they used silicone caulk to glue it to the underside of the cart. Really shabby. I admit is does do the job and looks cool to your customers, the untraned eye. I had to do a bit of modifications to get this thing in business.
